With weather forecasting the number one misunderstanding is that the forecasts are always wrong. Another is that the forecasts all come from the same place. Both assumptions are not true and BridalWeather.com wants to show you that we make our own forecasts and they are very accurate.

One of our free daily services is Today's Forecast where we forecast for everywhere in the United States using our Outdoor Wedding Weather Indextm. The color code and number scheme is very easy to understand to help you the customer know the wedding weather for today. The purpose of this article is to show you just how accurate we can be with the hope to convince you that our forecasts are worth the investment for your wedding day weather!

Below are the graphical and text forecasts for Monday October 16, 2006 by BridalWeather.com. On this day a very active and dangerous weather pattern was in place and BridalWeather.com recognized this days before. Our index is a range of zero through 10 where zero and one represent Severe Weather situations and are colored in dark maroon. The numbers two through four are in red and signify that you really don't need to be outdoors because the weather will/could become nasty. The red is stop and really think about your plans. Then the yellow color is for numbers five through seven. Five is really the attention line where we feel that there's a good chance you may experience weather that may force you inside. For outdoor weddings this is crucial. So at Five we say you should have a well thought out back up plan in place just in case the outdoor wedding weather turns fowl. You can still take the chance to be outside but have your plan ready. Six and Seven are more relaxed cautionary levels. Here is where there could be a passing shower or showers will be developing but there is still a good chance your outdoor wedding will still be ok with maybe a tent and umbrellas standing by. Then the green areas indicate that all is a go for outdoor festivities like a wedding rehearsal dinner, the wedding itself, or pictures for the wedding day. Ten is perfect weather conditions and nine is really nice also. Eight is totally dry with clouds around more than sun. So once you check out the scale it's easy to catch on. The map below is filled with the index numbers and colors and the forecast was right on!

Thunderstorms will be numerous today in the southeastern United States. Any Wedding Planning or appointments you may have with someone for your Wedding gown, wedding hairstyle, or the wedding cake please use caution in your travels. There will be severe thunderstorm activity potentially in the areas where the Outdoor Wedding Weather Indextm is in the dark maroon 1 or 2 category. As you can see it's a wide area. There is alot of red on the map too as heavy rain showers and embedded thunderstorms are possible in the region number 4. Areas like Portland Oregon, Boise, and Minneapolis look to be wet if any future Brides are out and about. Mostly clear skies with a few clouds are in the green areas which are not popular on todays map.Below is the actual NOAA National Radar Imagery taken during the middle of the day showing bands of very strong and severe thunderstorms over the southern sections of the country. This is right where BridalWeather.com had in the Outdoor Wedding Weather Index at the number one. This was also verified with the preliminary reports of tornado damage in protions of Louisiana. The map below is the radar which clearly shows this.
