Interstate 85 Weather History

November 16, 2006 Birmingham, Alabama There was approximately 6.8 miles of damage up to 250 miles wide caused by a tornado east of Montgomery. The winds were in the one hundred and thirteen to one hundred and fifty seven mile per hour range which makes it an F2 on the Fujita Scale. It touched down and tracked quickly crossing Interstate 85 at Bell Road and continued northeastward to the Atlanta Highway. Several trees were snapped off or downed with minor roof damage to several homes.
